Life comes at us in a stream, a kind of incoming chaos. In this installation, two-dimensional sketches taken from nature are reproduced in plexi, giving them depth. The medium reveals the complexity in the chaos. You can look into the elements, like leaves or stones in a river, and see the context and history that created each piece. This clarity enables us to introspect and make choices, to mediate the influx of experience.

As we process the influx of experience, we need periods of organization and control. I experience this as giving limits and shape to the flow of elements. The result can be a kind of articulated expression, like a phrase, with a particular cadence.
